2Comm creates some West Coast perfection

The Blackball Salami Company came to us for a complete rebrand. The company was under new ownership and about to launch their range of salamis and specialty meats to a number of large supermarket chains. They needed a brand identity that could position them as a top quality product in the crowded specialty foods market.

Blackball Salami's brand values focused on the quality of the produce of the West Coast, as well as the ruggedness and natural beauty of the region. We created an identity that not only portrayed the region, but described the history of the company: with distressed type and a sketched image of the 'Stonehouse' where the company was started. The strapline we developed - West Coast Perfection - perfectly sums up the caliber of the product as well as its origin.

We started the new brand rollout with an extensive packaging audit, in order to rebrand the Blackball Salami products. This resulted in our designing a new range of labels that the client can produce efficiently and cost effectively.

The design has carried on across a range of collateral and apparel: from printed brochures and business cards to an e-commerce website, in-store point of sale banners to aprons - we ensured the Blackball Salami brand was now in line with the quality of their goods.
